IRL or In Real Life is my Modus Operandi…

I thrive on human interaction, but I also thrive on seeing others achieve success through real life experiences. Last week I hosted our second of many quarterly events at the Leucadia Club. The concept is simple, tie events to industries I have connections to, bring people together and watch relationships flourish.

Sports and Sports Tech is something I’ve been passionate about for many years. Having a diverse investment portfolio gives me the ability to attract people from different groups to come together. I call it the No Agenda Event Series, but the reality is I have an agenda, human connection.

We had an extremely successful event last Tuesday and the goal is to continue creating these industry specific events. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have some industry specific event ideas.

I will continue to stay on top of what’s happening in San Diego, specifically in North County. I am building a bit of a hit list of events in the coming days and weeks.

The No Agenda Event Series is in full force in 2025. I’ll be your host with one goal to make it a great experience. Each event series will have a focus on categories from sports tech to operations to marketing to AI. Each event has a cap and is industry specific, meaning we’re pretty strict on attendance to keep conversations at a high level.

Life takes the most unexpected turns when we least expect it….

Last night, I hosted our quarterly sports / sports tech event in Encinitas. We had an amazing turnout for a Tuesday night with over 70 people making it out for the event.

The biggest win for me last night had nothing to do with the actual event itself, it had to do with my son.

He asked me if he could help last night so I put him at a table in front to check people in. He did such a great job interacting with people and I could tell he really enjoyed it.

After the event, he came up to me and thanked me multiple times for allowing him to help and proceeded to tell me that he couldn’t wait to help me at the next event.

He mentioned how amazing it was it to interact with people and learn what they are doing and he even provided his own insight into some of the conversations.

Hands down the best father moment for me. Watching your son learn how business works and then having him get excited about it, truly is gold. That’s a father’s dream come true.

He asked me how he could connect with these people to learn more about what they were doing and I told him he needs to get more active on LinkedIn. At 16, he’s ahead of his time!

Sarah Hardwick and I connected on LinkedIn a couple of years ago and found out we have several mutual connections. She worked for a very interesting company here in Carlsbad that I’ve been following for several years called Aptera Motors.
